- Copyright Ownership
Upon submission, authors retain the copyright of their manuscript. However, once the manuscript is accepted and published in JESICA, the authors grant the journal the non-exclusive rights to:
- Publish the article in any format (print or digital)
- Distribute and archive the article in indexing databases, repositories, and other academic platforms
- Make the article publicly available under the terms of the Creative Commons license stated in this policy
- Licensing Terms
All published articles in JESICA are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Full license details can be accessed through the Creative Commons website.
- Author Rights
Authors maintain the right to:
- Use their article for teaching, academic presentations, and institutional repository submission
- Include the article in dissertations or theses
- Share the published version (PDF) for non-commercial use with proper attribution and citation
Authors may not authorize commercial reuse or derivative works without written permission from JESICA.
- Third-Party Rights and Permissions
Authors are responsible for securing permissions for copyrighted materials (e.g., figures, tables, datasets) included in their submitted manuscripts. Failure to provide proper permission may result in delays, revision requests, or rejection.
- Commercial Use Requests
Any request for commercial use, republication, translation, or adaptation of published articles must be formally submitted to the editorial office. Approval may require author consent and may be subject to additional terms.
